Bloom Wool Pellets are a gentle, high-nitrogen soil ammendment that slowly compost, releasing nutrients as they complete the regenerative Soil to Soil cycle. Use in the garden, on potted herbs
and vegetables and in houseplants year-round.
• replenishes nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium (9-1-4) and other nutrients
• aerates soil and adds oxygen
• absorbs and helps conserve water
• deters pests like slugs and caterpillars
• returns carbon to the soil
Made from wool grown on farms in and around the Western Massachusetts Fibershed Region.
We have an abundance of meat sheep in this country that produce millions of pounds of wool each year that is not suitable for clothing. It is however, perfectly usable for crafting, home products and nutrient-dense soil additives.
When we collect wool from local farms, some of it does not meet the standard for becoming one of Bloom's high-quality yarns. Additionally, when we skirt the wool...which means manually removing debris from the individual fleeces....there are parts such as belly wool and britch wool that are discarded. When this waste wool is run through a pelletizing machine it becomes a valuable soil amendment that completes the regenerative farming process of returning nutrients and carbon to the earth.
Using Bloom Wool Pellets helps support farms in our region by converting a wool by-product into a valuable resource.
