Introducing WILDFLOWER....our brand new bulky weight yarn spun from 100% Finn wool grown on a beautiful family homestead just down the hill from Bloom. This lustrous wool makes a bouncy 3-ply that is warm, soft and lofty. Spun for us at Alchemy Fiber Mill in Easthampton, Western Massachusetts' new (and only!) fiber mill. Named after some of my favorite places here in Ashfield, this is a hyper-local, breed specific yarn made start to finish in the heart of this fibershed region.  
 
I worked closely with Alchemy to design these intricate colorways....first they scoured the fiber and then I brought it back to the studio and used GOTS-certified organic dyes to add vibrant color to the washed fleece. Using some old art school color theory, I mixed various contrasting colors of fleece together then brought it back to the mill to be carded and spun.  This method results in a speckling of color that is more complex than what can be achieved when vat-dyeing fiber already spun into yarn.

Please note, these skeins appear to be smaller than our usual 2 oz skeins, but rest assurred they are a full 2 oz and their intricate colors and bulky weight make for an impactful and lovely yarn!
